Queens University has submitted plans for a 17-storey 463-unit purpose-built student accommodation block on the Dublin Road.
Software company, Kainos, purchased the site in 2019 before demolishing the former Movie House building in 2021.
The site has since been occupied by Trademarket, a temporary market and events space.
After reviewing its requirements, Kainos sold half the site to Queen's University, Kainos has also submitted a new planning application for a 14-storey development which will include a ground floor cafe and public realm works.
